Kingsley Aboagye-Gyedu has been the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Volta Alluminium Company Limited (VALCO), Tema, Ghana, since April 2024. He brings over 26 years of extensive experience encompassing corporate leadership, executive management, entrepreneurship, financial management, audit, internal controls assessment, accountancy, tax advisory, and consultancy. Previously, he served as the Deputy CEO of VALCO overseeing Environment, Social, and Governance Affairs from August 2023 to March 2024, when he was promoted to the CEO position.
Before joining VALCO, Kingsley was the founder and managing partner of KingSAG Accounting Services, a firm of Chartered Accountants and Management Consultants. He also gained valuable experience as a Senior Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers Ghana for over three years. His career includes roles with prominent international organizations such as British American Tobacco West Africa and USAID West Africa Regional Program.
In addition to his corporate career, Kingsley has a distinguished political background, having served as a Member of Parliament (MP) for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency in the Western North Region from January 2013 to December 2020. He also held positions as Deputy Minister of Health (April 2017 - March 2019) and as the first Minister for the Western North Region (April 2019 - March 2021).
Kingsley's leadership at VALCO is characterized by his expertise in formulating effective policies, driving their implementation to enhance shareholder value, and providing strategic direction to the organization. He is an entrepreneur with interests in Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), Tertiary Education, and Media.
Kingsley holds a Masters in Business Administration in Finance (MBA Finance) from the University of Leicester, UK, and an Honours Degree in Economics (BA Hon, (Economics)) from the University of Ghana, Legon. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICAG).
